Amala Sky — Scaling Local Delicacies to the Digital Cloud
How we transformed a traditional food brand into a multi-branch digital ordering powerhouse, boosting online deliveries by 340% in Lagos State.
Amala Sky Foods
Amala Sky is one of the fastest-growing modern quick-service restaurants specializing in traditional Nigerian cuisine. Despite their strong offline footprint in Lagos, they were heavily reliant on third-party delivery platforms that took up to 30% commission, ate into margins, and withheld vital customer data.
The Challenge
With multiple branches across Lagos and Ogun, Amala Sky needed a direct-to-consumer digital system. They needed their own web ordering app, a loyalty system to encourage return visits, local SEO optimization so people searching for 'amala delivery near me' would find them directly, and operational CRM workflows to orchestrate delivery riders and kitchen staff.
The Strategy & Execution
Brands Digitals designed and engineered a custom Next.js web application optimized for mobile ordering. We integrated automated geolocation mapping, WhatsApp notifications for real-time order tracking, and a custom database using Supabase. On top of that, we launched a localized performance marketing campaign focusing on high-density commercial hubs in Lagos.
The Outcome
Within 6 months of launching, direct online orders surged by 340%. By routing deliveries through their own custom app instead of third-party platforms, Amala Sky reclaimed 100% ownership of their client relationships, increased retention to 68%, and successfully launched two new physical cloud kitchens based on order heatmaps.
